Healing Paws is the home of integrative approach to Veterinary Medicine. We realize that each patient heals differently and our primary focus is bringing body, mind and health back to balance. We often combine, both conventional and holistic modalities in order to heal.
Our premises are warm and welcoming and you and your furry friend will be greeted with warmth and gratitude. We practice medicine that support all stages of life and pride ourselves for being an integrative part of our patients’ longevity and wellbeing.
Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. After graduating from High School, relocated to Pretoria, South Africa where she attended prestigious Faculty of Veterinary Science, Onderstepoort at University of Pretoria. After obtaining her Veterinary degree in 1997, she joined a multi doctor, small animal practice in Johannesburg for 6 years. In 2003 she moved to BC and Port Moody became her home. Same year she completed National Board Exam at Ontario Veterinary College and became a licensed Veterinarian in Canada. At that time, she joined holistic veterinary practice and started showing profound interest in natural disciplines. She is a founder of Healing Paws Veterinary Care, an integrative practice, that opened in 2009.
During past 15 years, she became certified in Western Herbs, TCVM for animals and IVAS certified in Small Animal Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She is currently taking courses in Animal Rehab and Massage Therapy.
She believes that there is no right or wrong way in medicine and that every patient has unique response to various modalities of healing.
Understanding patients and clients needs is her forte and staple of her philosophy as a Veterinarian.
Besides animal wellbeing, her interests are people and their cultural diversity, tennis and nature preservation.
She is married, with two children: one two-legged boy and one four-legged fur child.
Dr Alex obtained his Veterinary Degree in 2006 and has worked in mixed and rural animal practice. After working in small animal hospitals in Ontario, Dr Alex moved to the Lower Mainland where he is proud to call home.
Dr Alex main interest is the wellbeing of the patient, practicing integrative medicine consultation encompassing conventional, complementary & alternative therapies. His Veterinary interests are wellness & preventative health care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, nutrition, immunology, and behaviour, though he enjoys all aspects of general practice.
Alex has been a part of the Healing Paws team since 2016 and loves helping people help their pets.
